Great Duel : Manny Pacquiao – Juan Manuel Marquez III 12 November 2011

I just hope simply that the fight is as tight as the first two. You can see this boxing live on 12 November 2011. With both I had seen Marquez one point ahead. Had he received one of the Decisions, the careers of the two would probably run pretty different. Manny is now a full welterweight. I had seen a few clips from the fight with Mosley … sure the time was light weight, but saw a light middleweight from not frail.
Compared to that of the Pacman was inferior to no little physical … Clottey not even next to it looked like a little boy. Pacquaio but now looks different than for example still in the fight with DLH.

And Marquez? The world premiere was at his trial at all clear. Not only that Mayweather was a style nightmare for him, but he clearly lost speed (the fastest Marquez is not anyway), although he almost frail next to Mayweather worked.Perhaps it is Pacquiao against his nemesis got in, walked up to him and Marquez can play to its strengths … and these are primarily its counter-actions. But just as Pacquiao has developed over the last few years, I rather think that he is aiming for a sovereign point victory over the greater activity … built on a solid foundation of deliberative footwork.

The fight comes a few years too late, and every pound over 140lb Pacquiao is one of the meets. Since the catch weight-King has also not made large concessions … Why should we? He’s like the cash cow in this fight … even if Marquez’s popularity compared to the past (remember the fight against Chris John) is significantly increased.

List of current world boxing championship

World Boxing Association

The World Boxing Association (WBA) was founded in 1921 as the National Boxing Association (NBA)—a national regulating body of the United States. On August 23, 1962, the NBA became the WBA—a Venezuelan-based worldwide regulating body, which today has its head office in Panama. According to WBA championship rules, when a champion holds at least one title of one of the other three major sanctioning bodies, the boxer is granted special recognition: he is called the undisputed world champion and is given more time between mandatory title defences. The “regular” WBA world title is vacated if it is one of the titles the respective boxer holds. When a boxer defends his WBA title for the fifth consecutive time, he is normally granted the “WBA Super Belt”.

World Boxing Council

The World Boxing Council (WBC) was founded in Mexico City, Mexico on February 14, 1963 in order to establish an international regulating body. The WBC established many of today’s safety measures in boxing, such as the standing eight-count, a limit of 12 rounds instead of 15, and additional weight classes. In its discretion, the WBC may designate and recognize, upon a two-thirds majority vote of their Board of Governors, one or more emeritus world champions in each weight class. Such a recognition is for life and is only bestowed upon present or past WBC world champions. The following boxers have earned the Emeritus Championship appellation throughout their careers: Lennox Lewis, Vitali Klitschko, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Kostya Tszyu, Manny Pacquiao, Érik Morales, and Édgar Sosa.

In September 2009, the WBC created its new “Diamond Championship”. This belt was created as an honorary championship exclusively to award the winner of a historic fight between two high-profile boxers. The inaugural Diamond Belt was awarded on November 14, 2009 to Manny Pacquiao who won his seventh weight division world title via 12th round technical knockout over Miguel Ángel Cotto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

International Boxing Federation

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) originated in September 1976 as the United States Boxing Association (USBA) when American members of the WBA withdrew in order to legitimize boxing in the United States with “unbiased” ratings. In April 1983, the organization established an international division that was known as the United States Boxing Association-International (USBA-I). In May 1984, the New Jersey-based USBA-I was renamed and became the IBF.

World Boxing Organization

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) was founded in San Juan, Puerto Rico (which is a self-governing commonwealth of the United States) in 1988. Its motto is “dignity, democracy, honesty.” A boxer may be considered for designation for “Super Champion” status when he meets the criteria under Section 14 of WBO Regulations. Besides the beltholders that are called “Super Champion” by the WBO, there are some more fighters that have been named “WBO Super Champion” like Bernard Hopkins, Óscar De La Hoya, Juan Díaz, Marco Antonio Barrera, Joe Calzaghe, Kelly Pavlik. Some media sites do not include the WBO in their list of champions, whereas others do.

Ring Magazine

The Ring (often called Ring Magazine) is an American boxing  magazine  that was first published in 1922 as a boxing and wrestling magazine. As the sporting legitimacy of professional wrestling came more into question, The Ring shifted to becoming exclusively a boxing oriented publication. The magazine is currently owned by Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Enterprises. In 2002, The Ring attempted to clear up the confusion regarding world champions by creating a championship policy. It echoed many critics’ arguments that the sanctioning bodies in charge of boxing championships had undermined the sport by pitting undeserving contenders against undeserving “champions”, and forcing the boxing public to see mismatches for so-called “world championships”. The Ring attempts to be more authoritative and open than the sanctioning bodies’ rankings, with a page devoted to full explanations for ranking changes. A fighter pays no sanctioning fees to defend or fight for the title at stake, contrary to practices of the sanctioning bodies. Furthermore, a fighter cannot be stripped of the title unless he loses, decides to move to another weight division, or retires. Go to Dish business for boxing tv channels informations.

There are currently only two ways that a boxer can win The Ring’s title: defeat the reigning champion; or win a box-off between the magazine’s number-one and number-two rated contenders (or, sometimes, number-one and number-three rated). A vacant Ring championship is filled when the number-one contender in a weight-division battles the number-two contender or the number-three contender (in cases where The Ring determines that the number-two and number-three contenders are close in abilities and records). The Ring’s championship policy has gained the acceptance of outlets in North America such as ESPN and, to an extent, HBO; as well as being mentioned by the BBC in the United Kingdom. The grappling aspect is called the ground game since this would involve wrestling and jiu jitsu, which requires people to take down their opponents. Boxing Hall of Fame

The sport of boxing has two internationally recognized boxing halls of fame; the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) and the World Boxing Hall of Fame (WBHF), with the IBHOF being the more widely recognized boxing hall of fame.

The WBHF was founded by Everett L. Sanders in 1980. Since its inception the WBHOF has never had a permanent location or museum, which has allowed the more recent IBHOF to garner more publicity and prestige. Among the notable names in the WBHF are Ricardo “Finito” Lopez, Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, Michael Carbajal, Khaosai Galaxy, Henry Armstrong, Jack Johnson, Roberto Durán, George Foreman,Ceferino Garcia, and Salvador Sanchez. Boxing’s International Hall of Fame was inspired by a tribute an American town held for two local heroes in 1982. The town, Canastota, New York, (which is about 15 miles (24 km) east of Syracuse, via the New York State Thruway), honored former world welterweight/middleweight champion Carmen Basilio and his nephew, former world welterweight champion Billy Backus. The people of Canastota raised money for the tribute which inspired the idea of creating an official, annual hall of fame for notable boxers.

The International Boxing Hall of Fame opened in Canastota in 1989. The first inductees in 1990 included Jack Johnson, Benny Leonard, Jack Dempsey, Henry Armstrong, Sugar Ray Robinson, Archie Moore, and Muhammad Ali. Other world-class figures include Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Durán, Ricardo Lopez, Gabriel “Flash” Elorde, Vicente Saldivar, Ismael Laguna, Eusebio Pedroza, Carlos Monzón, Azumah Nelson, Rocky Marciano, Pipino Cuevas and Ken Buchanan. The Hall of Fame’s induction ceremony is held every June as part of a four-day event.

The fans who come to Canastota for the Induction Weekend are treated to a number of events, including scheduled autograph sessions, boxing exhibitions, a parade featuring past and present inductees, and the induction ceremony itself.
